Welcome to the Village of Queen Charlotte
A community set between the sea and mountains
of Haida Gwaii
Our community offers visitors and residents alike a unique opportunity for outdoor life experiences as well as the comfort and accessibility of a wide choice of restaurants, businesses and accommodations. We are a friendly community (945 population) with hospital, school and churches. We are loggers, artists, fishermen, government workers and much more.
The Village of Queen Charlotte Council received the resignation of Councillor Ellen Foster on March 15. Councillor Foster was first elected in 2011 and acclaimed in 2014. During her time on Council, Ellen was a strong advocate for local jobs, youth services, and providing good governance. She represented Queen Charlotte on the BC Ferries Advisory Committee, as well as South Graham Island on the Gwaii Trust Society and was always available to hear the concerns of her friends and neighbours. The Council and staff pass along our best wishes and a thank you for Ellen's years of public service. She did her part to keep Queen Charlotte a great place to live, work and play and we will miss her energy.
