Municipal Facilities & Equipment Available for Rental

Any organization or individual renting a facility from the Village must have or obtain event insurance listing "The Village of Daajing Giids" or "The Village of Queen Charlotte" as an Additional Insured. An easy and cost-effective source of insurance is through MIABC's facility user insurance available here.  (MIABC's insurance portal still lists the Village of Queen Charlotte, which will be accepted by our office until updated in their system.)

Spirit Square

A beautiful, covered wooden stage structure in the centre of downtown Daajing Giids that can be used for bands, musical performances, presentations and other public events. Rental includes use of the stage, electricity, surrounding public space, and after-hours bathroom at the Visitor Info Centre. Access to the electrical closet (lights, additional electricity besides stage outlets) available for an additional fee.

Daajing Giids Youth Centre

The Youth Centre is a medium-sized indoor recreation facility located adjacent to the Community Park (locally referred to as the 'Bear Park'), skate park, tennis court, hockey rink and other recreational amenities. When not being utilized by youth centre programming, it is available for rentals by individuals and organizations. It's primary focus is youth recreation and is generally utilized by families hosting birthday parties, however it can also be used for meetings, fitness space or other. Rental of the space includes use of the basic amenities including kitchen (not including food supplies), furniture, tv, foosball, etc. however youth program equipment (bikes, sports gear, music equipment, art supplies etc.) are not available for use. The Youth Centre space is strictly alcohol free for all private and public rentals. 

The Youth Centre includes a $50.00 janitorial fee in addition to rental costs, unless rented on a weekend the centre is already scheduled to be cleaned. Please inquire with the Village office which weekends include reduced rates. The janitorial fee covers floors, bathrooms, and surfaces to a public health level standard. Users are responsible for set up, take down, garbage, kitchen cleaning & food service. The deposit will not be refunded until the Youth Centre has been inspected by Village staff.

Tent & Sound Equipment

The village has a number of 8x8 tents available to rent by other municipalities, government organizations and not-for-profit organizations for not-for-profit or fundraising events. We also have limited PA and audio equipment available to the same user groups. Private rentals and for-profit businesses requiring tents and AV equipment can rent from a number of local businesses.
